Project of Integrated System of monitoring and Evaluation of NRDP

The Project of Natural Resources Development supported by the Albanian Government and financed by the World Bank, GEF and Sida, aims to develop the natural resources management based on the community in approximately 218 communes in remote and mountainous areas exposed toward the erosion, which will lead in revenue production growth from the resources management by the public sector. The project is composed of some main components and definite indicating objectives, which will be realized through years in accordance with the resoures and scheduled activities.

 

The Albanian Government in a 5 year period will accomplish the Project for Natural Resources Development financed from World Bank, GEF and Sida.


The Project aims to develop the natural resources management based on the community in approximately 218 communes in remote and mountainous areas exposed toward the erosion, which will lead in revenue production growth from the resources management, land degradation decrease, water management improvement, protection of biodiversity and strengthening the management of those resources by the public sector.


The Project is composed of three main components:

 

  • Component A - Improved management and governance of forests and pastures;
  • Component B - Improved management and governance of basins;
  • Component C - Activities to establish a functional system regarding monitoring and evaluation of quantity, quality and sustainability of project achievements.


In function of those components, NRDP has formulated some objectives which will be accomplished through years in accordance with the resources  and scheduled activities:

  1. To establish or follow up the community based management of natural resources in approximately 218 communes in remote and mountainous areas exposed toward the erosion;
  2. Increase of productivity through a sustainable management of the resources;
  3. Increase of revenues through a sustainable management of the resources;
  4. Land degradation reduction;
  5. Improving water management;
  6. Biodiversity protection;
  7. Strengthening of resource management by the public sector;
  8. Sustainable management of forests, pastures and other natural resources;
  9. Coordination and efficient management of this project;
