Strengthening of women’s participation in public and political life
The study provided information on the concrete social factors which create obstacles for women to take part in the public life of the region and provided recommendations for abolishing the obstacles for women’s self-realization and to approve the real quality of women and men. One hundred interviews were conducted from September-October 2004 with women representatives of public administration, public sector, businesswomen, students, unemployed women and women involved in politics. Questions asked during the interviews focused on their participation in public and political life and the presence of women’s discrimination in Albanian society.
